A Valentines Day Love Letter to my Wife
It feels odd to write a love letter that anyone can read. But then, odd has often been normal for us. As I sat down to write this I thought about all the ways I could tell you I love you. I pondered the romantic words I could write, the images I could craft and the comparisons I could built. I could laude your beauty, intelligence, and humor. However, when I thought about it, I decided my love letter to you is really something more.
My love letter to you is the life we share and the dreams we forge. We write the words to our letter in goodbye kisses and whispered I love you's. Our love letter is not written in ink, it is written in the random acts of love, overlooked and often forgotten, that fill our days. Paper cannot hold our letter, we need a lifetime to write it on. We will hold it close in a place where it cannot yellow and fade. Display it proudly on the mantle of our lives. One day we will pass our letter on in bedtime stories and grand adventures.
Happy Valentine's Day to my wife. May your ink never spill in the writing of your happiness.
